Praying with the Scriptures

In preparation for the Holy Year which will be celebrated by the whole church in 2025, Pope Francis asked that 2024 be observed as a “Year of Prayer”. To help us appreciate this opportunity to grow in our relationship with God, Fr Anthony O’Leary CP will be offering three sessions at Mount Argus on “Praying with the Scriptures”. These will be held in the St Charles Centre, beside Mount Argus Church, on three Tuesdays in October, beginning at 7.30pm. The topics are: Ways of Christian Prayer (October 8); Cries from the Heart – Psalms, our inspired Prayers (October 15); The Praise of his Glory – Prayer in the New Testament (October 22). This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Scriptures and to deepen our life of prayer. All are welcome. Fr Anthony was Associate Professor of Sacred Scripture at the former Milltown Institute and invited lecturer at St Patrick’s College, Maynooth and Carlow.
