In the Archdiocese of Dublin, Easter Offerings are a vital financial tradition. Alongside Christmas and Summer Offerings, they are dedicated entirely to the Common Fund, which centrally pays the salaries of all active, sick, and retired priests across the diocese. Easter offerings are crucial to the Diocese in providing
- Support for Active Clergy: with a shrinking and aging priesthood, priests are often spread thinly across multiple parishes. Central remuneration ensures that priests are supported equally, regardless of the socio-economic wealth of the parish to which they are assigned.
- Care for Retired and Ill Priests: A significant portion of this fund is ring-fenced to provide pensions, healthcare, and care facilities for retired priests who have dedicated their lives to the diocese, as well as those currently dealing with illness.
We thank everyone who has contributed this Easter. Your ongoing generous support of your parish and diocesan clergy is very much appreciated. If you have not already given an offering and wish to do so, please leave into the parish office or sacristy or you may use the donate facility on our website. Thank you.
