I would like to thank parishioners, and particularly the Parish Pastoral Council, for the joyful celebration of the 50th anniversary of my ordination and my 75th birthday. It was a memorable event. The wet weather did not dampen the spirit of all who participated.

I experienced a great sense of affirmation and a real spirit of community. Special thanks to Fr Pat Mangan and to Fr Pearse Walshe who gave the homily.

The tapestry that is my life as a priest is woven from the threads of family, friendship and faith. Each nourishes the other.

To each of you who took part or contributed in so many ways to the festive occasion, thank you, thank you, thank you.
